Mario Bellini 'Piccola Tentazione' Chairs
Mario Bellini designed the Piccola Tentazione — "little temptation" — for Cassina in 1973, using the same construction logic as his more famous CAB chair released around the same time: a minimal internal frame wrapped entirely in upholstery, so the Italian design chair reads as pure soft volume rather than visible structure. Bellini trained as an architect and went on to design for Olivetti, Cassina, B&B Italia and Vitra across a seven-decade career, and this chair shows the sculptural, body-conscious thinking that ran through all of it. New upholstery required to bring these back to their intended softness.
